The Lovers
By Sophia
A trine
A shine
Another life
Glimmering potentials
Intersecting diamonds
Neverending
In the face of all hope
There is disappointment and despair
A wish ungranted
The potential disappeared
The dangers of loving
The piercing of coming
A stain on a heart
Torn, not quite broken apart
The wish for reunion
Or union at all
A longing for wanting
A longing for the throng
The waiting for weeping
The holding it in
The waters so giving
The cleansing of sin
Wishing for something
Cut to the bone
The aching of wanting
The seed to just grow
Stuck in the hole
I dug myself
I hold the shovel
But I’m unwilling to get out
Thinking you were up above
To bury me alive
But maybe you were just waiting for me
To crawl out of the other side
So we could meet in the middle somewhere
Where the garden lives
Where all the seeds are flowers
And love is freely given
Is Eden temporary?
Or is fate in our hands
But lovers leave as lovers land
And loss is love too
Drowning in the ocean blue
And as I drown
I am brand new
A puddle of something
A mechanism to love
To live and to feel
In life up above
A churning
A burning
A new portal open
Unlocking shut doors
I never thought I’d look in
Unleashing it all
The wild, the broken, the unforgiven
So I forgive them
The parts I had banished
And I forgive you
Even though you might vanish
How strong of a cord
Can be sealed in such little time
Lovers unlinear and
undefined
I’ll mirror you
And you mirror me
And at the same time we’ll exist
In the duality
The ups and the downs
The infinite grounds
For war or for Eden
The question of leaving
Leaving another or leaving ourselves
Either or it always dwells
Until we face it
The damage we’ve done
When straying from a promise
A simple promise
To love
